APPLETON, Wis. (NBC 26) — Firefighters said they responded to a laundry fire in the basement of a hotel Saturday at 4 a.m.
The Appleton Fire Department said the fire happened at the Copper Leaf Hotel located in Appleton. The hotel was evacuated by the time crews arrived.
According to the department, the fire started in one of the hotel dryers in the basement laundry area.
Crews said they brought the fire under control within 10 minutes. They said the hotel's properly working sprinkler system assisted in the extinguishing of the fire.
The fire is under investigation and a cause has not yet been determined.
No further information has been released at this time.
