Omaha Police investigators charged a Kansas man for allegedly carrying out several burglaries reported in October 2020. Police reports indicate investigators may still be searching for a second suspect.According to OPD, Casey Arend, 34, of Topeka, faces at least six counts of burglary.Investigators first received word of the alleged crimes on Oct. 26. That's when, according to OPD, a manager at the Kensington Woods Apartments complex reported burglars broke into several buildings' laundry rooms.OPD said the manager reported damage inside at least six different buildings between Oct. 23-24.Police said the manager told them once the suspects entered each laundry room, they would spray paint the security cameras and then possibly empty the washers and dryers to steal change.OPD also said the manager reported seeing two suspects arrive at the complex in a black Ford Mustang.Investigators reviewed security footage captured by the laundry room cameras. In it, police said they could see Arend and another woman allegedly break in, before Arend walks up to the camera and spray paints the lens.
