TAMPA, FL — Guests were evacuated from the newly opened Hyatt dual-branded Aloft and Element hotel in Midtown Tampa Saturday after a dryer in a second-floor laundry room caught fire.

Tampa Fire Rescue responded around 8:30 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the laundry room. The hotel's sprinkler system contained the fire and firefighters were able to douse it before 9 p.m., allowing guests to go back in.
