The property shares an architect with the Meadowood Resort
Culinary tycoon Frank Brady may not have the most recognizable name in the business, but his legacy is written all over the food industry. His career has touched some of the most famous people in the food industry - as well as outside that industry - and so has his estate. Now, the home at 1250 Oakwood Lane is for sale.
Brady has invented more than 100 culinary items for companies like Williams-Sonoma. Some of those products enjoy celebrity endorsements from such renowned local chefs as Thomas Keller of the French Laundry. Keller has close ties to the owner, having cooked in the kitchen many times and hosted events on the property.
"Daisy Hill Farm is one of the few kitchens Thomas Keller plus his Bouchon chefs have actually cooked in," Brady told SFGATE.
Indeed, the massive center island was designed to accommodate at least eight chefs. Plus, there's a walnut cutting block, ample storage and top-of-the-line appliances.
The rest of the home is equally impressive, with its 6,800 square feet and exposed wood-beamed ceilings. The estate itself was designed by Bob Eberlin, who also built Meadowood Resort, which neighbors this property. Outside amenities include a 55-foot pool and casita, an outdoor dining/kitchen area, a bocce ball court, plus a gym and guesthouse. The gardens offer food, flora, and celebrity from the roses Brady dedicated to his friend Julia Child and the gardens where the Pope's assistant held daily Mass during an extended retreat to the Thomas Keller tomato plants.
All this rests on a 12.13 acre St. Helena lot. The sale includes an additional adjacent 6+-acre parcel at 1210 Oakwood Lane "with potential for a complete second estate or guest compound."
